My name is Gurditt Rathore. I am a confident, hard-working and self-motivated individual with the desire to succeed in a career that is graphics-orientated.
I thoroughly enjoy adopting new concepts and programmes in my work as it has enabled me to develop my knowledge and skills in digital media. I feel I am a positive candidate for the BA (Hons) in Graphic Design because I have drive, passion and an aspiration to pursue my desired career. I am also a keen traveller, having visited places including New York and Milan where I absorbed the local culture, architecture and lifestyle.

Throughout my current course of study, I have achieved positive feedback and high grades due to the standard of work produced and this has been demonstrated in my portfolio.
My portfolio consists of several images that I have designed and produced independently using a wide variety of machinery such as the Heidleberg and programmes including QuarkXpress, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Image 1, for example, shows a Kanye West CD cover. To produce this, I used Illustrator initially, because its features enabled me to produce a higher quality image with the opportunity to adopt different effects then imported the image into a QuarkXpress CD template to complete the final look.

Many of my projects have been both conceptual and technical, and I have learnt to apply my technical skills to the practical side of my course. Image 2 shows a 3-D Ipod Nano, produced on Illustrator using a 3-D extrude and bevel filter.

Quark was used to produce the Milan tour guide, which was a project assigned to test our practical skills, to portray headings, footers, page numbers, images and jabber.

I hope that the images included show my character and personality in terms of designer and producer. In addition, I can only stress that these images have been produced based on the knowledge I have acquired so far. However, if I were to be accepted on the course, not only would it give me the opportunity to learn new things, it would also allow me to produce quality projects of an even higher standard.
